This is an exciting opportunity to help “lead the way” and drive growth with the Global Hospital Acute Care Business. The surgical anesthesia portfolio, comprised of BRIDION, ESMERON and ENTERG will account for over $1B in annual revenue in 2018 and > $1.5 Billion long-term outlook The GBL will also lead all late stage Business Development efforts in broad therapeutic areas including Critical Care, Hematology and Surgery/Acute Pain.

The Executive Director, Global Brand Leader, will play an important role as we seek to drive growth and optimize patient access to our important portfolio of surgical anesthesia products! This leader will also be on the cutting edge of transformation as we transition to an entirely new level of strategic engagement, one that perfectly aligns with the three critical priorities for GHH – DIGITAL, Value Demonstration & Affordability, Patient Focused Customer Experience.

Specific Responsibilities include and are not limited to the following:

  • Oversee realization of the vision for the surgical anesthesia portfolio.

  • Leading Hospital Acute Care Business Development efforts with MRL and Corporate BD with focus in broad customer segments including Surgery, Acute Pain, Critical Care, and Hematology.

  • Manage a team of highly talented global marketers, optimizing portfolio performance while driving individual professional development

  • Partner with MRL to optimize product development team (PDT) support of BRIDION

  • Partner with 6 key markets as well as Regional Market Leaders (RMLs) to define integrated business strategy for BRIDION

  • Ensure final key launch market for BRIDION, China, realizes maximum potential

  • Collaborate with Business Development Team (Global and Regional) to identify inorganic growth opportunities

  • Work closely with Early Development Commercial Leads to ensure commercial insights within the surgical anesthesia space are leveraged in the development of pre-phase III assets

  • Drive forward digital innovation, focused on optimization of analytics as well as customer communication channels

  • Engage policy team to identify relevant policy levers to support portfolio access

  • Maintain strong level of collaboration with MMD colleagues to inform short-term and long-term supply chain decisions

  • Partner with MRL CORE team to ensure real world evidence plan is fully aligned with portfolio priorities


  • Required: Bachelor Degree

  • Preferred: Advanced Degree

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of (10) years combined Marketing, Sales, Marketing support or related experiences in Pharmaceutical and/or Biotechnology industries

Preferred Experience:

  • Leadership: Proven track record of leading with and without authority.

  • Collaboration: Strong collaboration skills, both within GHH as well as cross divisional, including MRL.

  • Communication: Ability to clearly articulate messages/information across the enterprise and to all levels, including highest levels of senior leadership

  • Understanding of Drug Development Process (Early and Late Stage)

  • Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to analyze complex data and create clear patient and customer centric strategies

  • Focus on Results: Driven, results oriented thinking and corresponding high level of performance

  • Innovative Thinking: Demonstrated ability to leverage innovation to drive results
